We need to establish a shelter so we can save more cats and kittens, abandoned guard dogs and injured wildlife. Many are starving and injured and without our rescues, they would almost certainly die a slow and painful death. We urgently need to establish a shelter where they can be cared for prior to being rehomed. We need an acreage property on the Gold Coast in one of these areas: Mt Nathan, Clagiraba, Gilston, Nerang, Gaven, Worongary, Ashmore. Can you help?

Since 2002 we have been rescuing and rehoming lost, abandoned and wild (not feral) cats and kittens; abandoned guard dogs and injured wildlife in south east Queensland. Its a lot of work! The cats and dogs we rescue are rehabilitated, desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and offered for adoption through our website and network partners. Injured wildlife are rehabilitated and either released back into their environment or rehomed with carers.

Our method of rescuing abandoned and wild cats is a humane alternative to trapping and killing and seeks to remedy the growing numbers of irresponsible pet owners dumping their unwanted pets. We often find mother cats with newborn kittens simply left in a box under a tree or even worse, put into dumpsters! These cats rarely make it into shelters and are routinely ignored by Councils. Nobody seems to care what happens to them but many are starving and injured orphaned kittens.

WildCats (a registered charity in Queensland) has been established with a view to networking with animal welfare agencies, veterinary clinics, pet food and products manufacturers, local factory owners and anyone else who may be willing to make a contribution to the success of our work.
